What fur is this? I mean what species of pelt.

 

I love his confidence and the way he gently strokes the lapel...He is clearly enjoying himself.

Too little. A shot in the dark would be sheared beaver, but it looks too "puffy"

I agree with the previous commenters. Since it is probably dyed fur, it could be raccoon, beaver or fox. To illustrate this, the following is dyed raccoon:

I agree. Black dyed blue fox. It has the same shine to it like the black fox stole i have.

This looks to be black dyed blue fox. Small image makes it impossible to be certain, but I would bet it is black fox.
