Guest
I posted a link ages ago; I think in the sci fi thread, about it. However I could only find the episode guide....but that was nicely written!
allfurme
I can go one better; I have a Captain Scarlett jumper that my Mother knitted, complete with the logo. I first watched Captain Scarlett in the late Sixties. After watching Twizzle, Torchy, Supercar, Fireball XL5, Joe 90 and Thunderbirds i was really shocked to see people actually got killed! Guest
I kind of liked it when the mysterons took over some sexy chicks so they were real bad Yes ....it was quite dark, Captain Scarlett. The new series maybe evn more so...it was intended for an aduly audience.

Guest
yeah that was cool. Spectrum Pursuit Vehicle. Angels were Destiny Harmony Symphony Rhapdsody and Melody I think. The interceptors were amazing. As was the theme which was also recorded by Siouxsie and The banshees. Hey allfurme does the spectrum jumper still fit you? That must've be some knit pattern. Guest
I have quite a few of the Captain Scarlet toys & models. In fact I have a small Angel Interceptor here on my desk. Great Airplane design!
allfurme
TouchofSable, In answer to your question - yes! That's because i was about 35 at the time. (I'm 51 now) I really don't know why she knitted it, but she is a very good knitter.
Unclejoe420
Don't suppose anyone has seen any of the CGI series of Captain Scarlet, that is / was on over here in the UK?
allfurme
I have watched some of them. They are probably good to the new generation, but i am not so impressed. I only compare it to the 'real' Captain Scarlett. I grew up with them and they became heros to me. As a youngster they were real people with hearts and souls. (Yes i know they were really only puppets). I always felt the same about the other Gerry Anderson series and Basil Brush. PS I still think Basil is brilliant
Unclejoe420
I rather liked Captain Scarlett, Thunderbirds et al, but i also grew up with sutff like Transformers, Robotech, GoBots and also the occasionaly bit of anime - so i kinda developed a soft spot for all of them. Used to build Thunderbirds out of Lego, am still collecting Transformers (albeit Japanese ones) and am slowly amassing a bit of an anime DVD library. Unclejoe PS Still can't believe Transformers have been going for 22 years..
Guest
Anyone remeber marine Boy? And Gigantor? who would have expected that to start a whole Art movement? (Anime) It was the CGI series who I met the voice of symphony and melody angel on saturday.
Unclejoe420
I remember Gigantor - but can't remember what channel it was on. I think Gigantor may have had something to do with Tetsujin 28 - perhaps it was just the western english dub / translation that changed it to Gigantor. Anime has been going for ages now - guess the Japanese have always had a knack for art, going all the way back to wood block prints - just look at their written language (ok, i was adopted from the chinese)!!
