Guest
Are there any difference(s) between garments made with male pelts or garments made with female pelts in terms of texture, color, length of hairs, etc.? I ask this question because I have seen furs that are labeled "female mink", but did not see any noticeable distinctions when comparing them to furs that are just labeled "mink". minkme
I think the male mink pelts are heavier than female pelts. Male pelts tend to be larger that female mink pelts. I am not sure if the hair is slightly longer than female mink pelts. Maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong.
LordTheNightKnight
I'm told male mink is thicker, but female mink is softer.
furpersona
Usually coats made of female pelts considered to be better quality, thats why female pelts has usually softer fur and they are more lightweight ! But have in mind that there are different qualities of mink pelts, so a high quality male mink can be better than female! Usually coats made of female minks are better and more expensive!
