Mr Barguzin
Okay. Confession time. I loved Joan Collins in "The Bitch", but more specifically I loved her in the blue fox cape, and MAN O MAN, did I and even now Do I want one. So it has gotten me to thinking: We all have fantasies, some about furs, some about furs and women, or furs and men. The fur and/or woman/man may change as we age, but can you recall what was the FIRST fur or fur and woman/man combination that made you just melt at the knees... or even better (if you get my drift) As I said above, it was Joan and that Blue fox cape (although I recall seeing it described in the credits as Shadow Fox, but it will always be blue to me.) Guest
Cybill Shepherd in that glorious Silver Fox in Moonlighting. Sure wish I could get a copy of that episode! OFF
LordTheNightKnight
I don't know if the title fits, since it implies an ideal fur situation rather than a first one. As for the first I remember, it would either have to be Loni Anderson's furs in WKRP or this ad I saw on the back of a magazine, when I was three, of a Hawaiian woman in a Hawaiian print bikini, and wading through a foamy water, but because I'm nearsighted, it looked like she had this six-foot wide disc of white fox around her waist. Odd outfit, but I love the thought of that.
Guest
The first for me is shrouded in the fog of furry memories but two stand out as special: Cover Girl with Rita Hayworth [1944] and Mildred Pierce with Joan Crawford [1945] I was 8 or 9. The earliest with a big impact were all those fuzzy college girls playing with me at age three slipping around on the frozen college pond. No fur in particular. It just seemed at the time they all had on furs. OFF
FurLoverinFL
I can't say it was any one picture or person... for me it was just hugging my mom's mink that she kept down in our basement. FLinFL
allfurme
I have said this before (many times); IRENE DUNNE IN "THE AWFUL TRUTH" Nothing, but nothing will ever surpass the feeling i had when she appeared in that fur coat. To call it a mere fur coat is an insult. I often wonder what happened to it.
Guest
Both Cybill Shepherd in the Silver fox (episode - Shoot out at the So-So Coral. I want that one too!) And Kim Cattrall in Mannequin (1987) See Avatar!
Guest
Allfurme raises a good point. SOMETIMES these garments come up on ebay. I have had a couple of furs from movies...and sold them on. Nothing I can recall personally, and only minor actresses...but they are there and not expensive. tap in "celebrity wardrobe" or celebrity owned, on ebay , and search under womens clothing , tap in fur too and search titles and descriptions. There are two or three companies who specialise in this sort of thing and I have seen some lovely furs but mostly out of my budget. I have got as coat that was owned by Cher though...and that was through a dress agency, has huge sable collar and cuffs, and my girlf still has that! And it was only about $600. As for defining moments in movies.....Marlene Dietrich with Jimmy Stewart....cant remeber what the movi is called but I was young when I remember getting excited.
