Are fur leg warmers worth buying?? How warm are they??

I've thought about buying some fox leg warmers before I left for Alaska this past feb and in hindsight I probably should have. There were a few days up there where it was so cold that I needed extra protection around my feet and hands. Even with the coat, hat, gloves and finally those little disposable hand warmer/ toe warmer inserts. But when push came to shove I decided not to buy them because I would probably never wear them in chicago. As cold as it can get around here it's not consistent from season to season. Fur coats are usually a must..hats too. But leg warmers are pushing it.

I would love to own a pair in a dark brown shade to light brow shade to match my fur coat..

I dont think its goin to hurt anything wearing them over jeans....
