Ahri
Hi, I am a 29 year old guy living in West-Europe, not a very cold climate, more like neutral. But i do like fur coats and parka's (parajumpers, moncler, woolrich, welovefurs, bogner, bomboogie, ....) I own several, but due to some kind of 'stigma/taboo' around fur for men, i did not usually wear this in public. What is your opninion on this coat (I have exactly the same model), see pictures. Is this acceptable in your region? What do you think Edited December 7, 2020 by Ahri
Zaphod_bee
Just Wear it ! If you Feel uncomfortable, start at a region were you do not expect to meet many people (evening, forest, etc.) Once you experience that nobody will do a remark on a normal piece of garment you will hopefully become more confident. That worked for me and now I am wearing more unusual furpieces throughout my hometown.
shyguy
That's totally fine, pretty cool parka in fact! I have a similar Moncler and wear mine regularly through the winter here in the UK. I suppose the best piece of advice if you're feeling a bit shy is just remember nobody is noticing it as much as you are 🙂 just wear what you feel comfortable with buddy. Ahri
Hi, Thanks for your supporting advice. What do you think of this parka? @Zaphod_bee And what Moncler do you wear? @shyguy Edited December 8, 2020 by Ahri
shyguy
I wear the Moncler Cluney, and the Maya. 🙂 I have a couple more off eBay, but they are from the womenswear collection. (Yes I love the brand 😅)

Zaphod_bee
@Ahri: I think this is a very nice jacket to wear - for me that is to be weared totally unisex; you can wear it throughout europe without problems. Feel confident !
Ahri
Thanks a lot for all the positive comments and advice. When I see an opportunity, I will wear it (when it's cold enough). It's so comforting, warm and soft, I love it. Greets from Belgium

Cyclobasti
I wear my Arctic Army Parka almost daily, and they have some of the biggest fur trims i know of. The only remarks I got came from my coworkers and they were all positive. One male coworker jokingly commented "Ready for your expedition to Antarctica?" and one female coworker said I looked like some sort of Baron or Duke haha 1
Ahri
Thanks for your commen @Cyclobasti I know the brand. And the fur collar looks very nice, bombastic over the top even. The lining of these coats are fake fur (but high quality) but i prefer a real rabbit fur if possible. Where I live, real fur parka's and coats for men are not commen. And there is a slight stigma when wearing it as a men I suppose. Because I think its more popular with some people who cause unrest (sometimes from an foreign ethnic origin). Otherwise when you don't look tall, strong and masculin, I have the impression that it can come across as feminin or womanish. But that's my only opnion. How more I try it on at home and how more I look around, the more reasonable it looks to try it in public. I suppose I should not overthink it and just go for it 😉

Norwegian lynx
I'm 29 aswell, and I've worn fur trimmed parkas for a long time. My most recent and most extravagant one is a Cedrico Fernand jacket, that has a massive raccoon hood trim, aswell as rabbit fur lining of the hood and collar. I'll admit it took some convincing myself to let that out of the closet, but once I did it felt great. If you want to feel more confident, save it for those really cold crisp days, when people will look at you in envy while freezing in their shoddy, patchwork winter attires! Also, here on Norway, "everyone" wears parajumpers, boys and girls alike! So wear it!

ff69
I live in Hungary. I wear my parkas on the street all winter. Here, people look at me more longingly when I’m in his parkas.
furlondon
OMG. I love your parkas, exactly what I am looking for (the first one). I would like one but I cannot find a parka into which the linking would fit... and with the hood trim. I would like 3-4 of them and change them, some regular trims and some really XXXL! ff69
Thanks. I made this park for myself, it was a big job, but it was worth it.
